A public hearing will be conducted for informing citizens and soliciting public input, written or oral, regarding the 1st St. Lift Station, Lift Station Overflow Vaults, and Category 4 and 5 Sanitary Sewer Pipe Replacement Project Needs Assessment (PNA) and Environmental Assessment (EA). The PNA is a report detailing the project as proposed, including project necessity, alternatives, and components. The PNA also describes how the project is being funded. The reports are being submitted to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) to qualify Pagosa Springs Sanitation General Improvement District for a State Revolving Fund Loan.

The PNA includes alternatives analysis completed for three high priority projects for the GID. The projects include: 1st Street Lift Station Installation located along Highway 160. The second project includes installation of overflow vaults, and control modifications at each existing lift station for overflow protection in the event of a power outage and emergency. The third component of the project includes the replacement of Rosita Street Category 4 pipeline, including manhole and pipe replacement.

Estimated Project Cost: $3,223,000

Copies of the PNA and EA are available for public review prior to the Public Hearing and are attached to this update.

The point of contact for the project is Karl Johnson, Sanitation Capital Projects, 970-264-4151 x 262.
