Planning Commission Vacancy
The Town of Pagosa Springs is seeking applications from Town residents to fill an open Alternate Member seat on the Planning Commission.
The Planning Commission consists of five regular members and two alternate members, each serving a four-year term.
A typical Planning Commission meeting may cover a variety of projects, including:
- Commercial developments and/or multi-family proposals for design review
- New subdivisions
- Land use permits
- Proposed zoning changes
- Amendments to the land use and development code

The Ideal Candidate
Ideal candidates will be focused on moving effectively through each meeting agenda, review development applications for compliance with the adopted codes, and committed to adaptive solutions to facilitate successful growth and development appropriate for our community as directed by the Town’s Comprehensive Plan and Land Use Development Code.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include serving as the Design Review Board and Board of Adjustment and, based on direction from the Town Council, conducting research on specific policies and providing recommendations.
The Planning Commission is also currently serving as the Historic Preservation Board, and those with downtown business district or historic structure redevelopment experience are strongly encouraged to consider this opportunity.
Eligibility
To be considered for appointment to this open alternate volunteer commission seat, a person must be a Town resident.
